Well, things have been absolutely crazy these past couple weeks, but we are successfully in San Diego and REALLY close to moving into our new neighborhood of Golden Hill. After teaching up at Mt. Hermon, many doctor visits (our baby girl seems to be anxious to meet us!), lots of good byes and a drive filled with LOTS of bathroom stops, we are here!
Finding a place that fits our budget and physical needs within the 7 X 10 block area we have committed to live in has proven to be quite tricky. While we look for a place, we have been staying with Randy and Judy Guista up in Encinitas. They have been super accommodating and are awesome.
Our baby girl is still breech, although we have been trying endless "tricks" to end her stubbornness and role over!! We met our midwife yesterday and they are giving us one more week to see if she will turn over before we would be sent to a local hospital and likely not be able to have her naturally. Please continue to pray for her to role over!! In the meantime, Janny will keep laying upside down, diving to the bottom of pools and playing loud music on her belly:) Whatever it takes!
We can't imagine a more relationally welcoming move. Our new church community with Nieucommunities has welcomed us with open arms. They have been right along side of us as we look for a place to live, go to doctor appointments and get adjusted to this new context. Our first night here, Rob and Laurie (the founder of Nieucommunities) took us out for a meal and the second night, the whole community of staff and apprentices threw a welcome party for us. As we embraced their hugs and sat hand in hand as the whole community prayed over us, we were again filled with peace and conviction about our decision to follow God's call on our lives to take on this new mission.
Thanks for sharing in this alongside of us!!
What's up awesome man of God! So sad to have missed your party. Glad to hear you have arrived in SD, you'd better burn your NORCAL stuff.
ReplyDeleteBlessings man. Keep it simple.
