While David spends much of his time among and advocating for orphaned children across the border in Tijuana (he actually lived down there for a portion of his apprenticeship), he has jumped head first into this year of leadership development, vocational discernment and community engagement.
Over the course of a year, all NieuCommunties participants goes through a curriculum that is broken into 6 sections (we call them postures). These past few months we have been going through time of vocational/calling discernment through a program called Life Compass. In short, it is a time to explore God's Mission (what we call True North) for the world and explore how our gifts/passions/talents/skills shape our role within that Mission. David tells the story of his experience going through Life Compass and follows that with a story of how this training had a direct impact in the community we live/serve. Please check out these stories as they give a glimpse into some of things we are doing and offer a challenging/inspirational picture of what it looks like to be disciples of Jesus apart of God's Redemptive Mission.
